Finding a cheap beach vacation

If you come from the frigid north then a beach vacation may be something that you desire greatly. However with everyone on a tight budget it may seem out of reach. Well I am here to tell you that is just not the case. You can have a great beach vacation if you really want to you just need to be innovative and stretch your dollar a bit more.

The first tip I would recommend when trying to book a inexpensive beach vacation is to find the best resorts in a certain area and then extend your search out from that location by at least 20 miles. The reason being is that the hotels that are near to the hot spots are going to be significantly cheaper then the most expensive resorts on the beach. You can still visit the beach it just may take you a longer time to get there.

The second tip would be to visit areas that are unknown to tourists. Smaller countries or countries that you may never even consider can offer the best deals around. For instance the country of Turkey has several resorts that cater to westerners and offer all inclusive packages for significantly less then some of the more popular resorts. If there is a certain country or area that you are fond of then just simply move down the map a bit and pick the town that is next to the one you want to stay in. Most likely the town will have their own beaches that are mostly used by the locals so you will end up receiving a far better deal then if you stay at the most popular area.

Another tip is to go when it is not high season. The hotels still have to keep their doors open and staff paid so they will more then likely cut you a deal. Also many of the restaurants and bars will not be swarming with tourists so it will be far easier to get a table or get into that hot nightclub you have heard so much about.

The point here is to just to do your research. You do not have to pay through the nose and getting the best deal should be your goal. It is important to keep as much money as you can even while traveling on vacation. Sure it is okay to be a bit spendy sometimes but just limit yourselves and all will work out just fine.

An Intro to Eco Tourism

The topic of Eco Travel is a hot one. Most of the world is waking up to how much energy and resources they are consuming on a daily basis. Many tourists are becoming more and more aware of their activities on the local ecosystems they are enjoying year after year. The whole idea of Ecotourism or Ecotravel is considered by some to be a bane on the ecology of the area. However on the flip side this same ecotourism is sponsoring conservation programs that would not get funding otherwise.

Some critics of ecotourism want to have the entire world cease world wide travel all together and everyone just stay home. While this may seem appealing to some it is just an impractical solution. We have are have gotten accustomed to our ways of travel and too many industries are dependent upon all the travelers that traverse the globe on a daily basis.

A better solution would be to try and make our impact less severe. You can do this by buying carbon offsets and staying in areas that contribute to the ecology of the area. A family does not necessarily have to give up all luxuries in order to feel responsible. Some of the best places to stay are very much environmentally safe and do not create a large footprint on the environment.

According to a recent study by the Natural Marketing Institute ecotourism represents a 24.2 billion dollar industry. Obviously this is a growing trend and we will see more and more eco friendly resorts and hotels popping up. Many of the existing hotels are slowly making a conversion from their bad ways in order to cater to this growing community. I see this as a great thing in our world as we do need to be more conscious as to how we are living on a daily basis including the way we vacation.
